Terrifying Urban Legends in Japanese Schools
however you have to be careful of the cherry blossoms blooming within the schools well what's even more crazy is that some people believe that there will be laser beams coming out of Beethoven's eyes [Music] and welcome to let's ask shogo it's summer in Japan and in Japan summer is often said to be the perfect season for spine chilling ghost stories I get tons of requests for a video of this theme and it's a little scary but I'll do my best so today I would like to introduce you to the seven horrifying mysteries of Japanese schools the Mysteries I introduce will get more and more terrifying towards the end so please enjoy this video till the end the seven Mysteries differ depending on the region of Japan and some people say that there are actually more than 30 if you count them all so the seven I'll introduce today are the ones that I heard growing up as a child in Japan I hope you can search for more mysteries of Japanese schools if you are interested and also please let me know about your favorite Yokai and ghosts in the comments after watching this video and this channel you can take closer look at Japanese traditional culture tips on traveling Kyoto as social problems in Japan so Learners lovers of Japanese culture be sure to subscribe to enjoy more content [Music] one the 13 steps so let's start from something that's slightly less scary there is a rumor that stares the Japanese schools with 12 steps will increase the 13 steps when you climb them late at night and if you accidentally step on that 13th Step you will be taken to another world there are others who say that there will be a rope that'll drop from above the 13th Step for hanging Yourself by the way I've actually purely counted the number of steps of my school when I was young to see if this rumor is real but it had 15 Steps so I wasn't able to see the end of the story [Music] appears in many stories but when she counts as one of the seven School Mysteries there is a specific way of summoning her first you go to the bathroom on the third floor of the school then you knock on the doors of the girls restroom three times each and ask are you there then from the third compartment of voiceful answer yes and a girl with a red skirt and a bowl cut comes out to drag you into the bathroom once you are Dragged In You will never be able to come out is probably the most popular School ghost but how was her story born there are many theories but I'd like to introduce the most common one hanakosan was actually a victim of a horrific crime in 1937 there was a forced suicide incident in an elementary school in iwatin prefecture a woman jealous of her cheating husband decides to commit suicide and take all the children along with her however one of her daughters noticed something wrong about her mother and stayed at school without going home there she was cornered by her angry mother and was eventually killed in the third straw of the bathroom off the third floor there are various other Original Stories a girl caught by a pervert in a school bathroom a girl who jumped to her death and so on in any case they're all very horrifying and scary stories by the way hanako was a popular name around two generations ago and was probably a nickname because the real name was not known that's why she looks like a typical school girl from my grandparents generation [Music] three the music room then next let's head towards the music room you'll be able to meet a lot of ghosts at night here too the most famous ones are the moving portraits of famous composers and the piano that plays on its own Japanese school urban legend music rooms generally have portraits of Mozart Beethoven and other famous composers hanging on the walls it is said that these portraits start to move at midnight it's not just the eyes moving but some say that they smile or frown or even cry while it's even more crazy is that some people believe that there will be laser beams coming out of Beethoven's eyes which moves the objects within the music room there is probably not much of a reason to this bizarre phenomenon children were probably simply scared of seeing someone's face in the dark late at night there's also a well-known mystery in which a piano plays by itself even though no one is supposed to be there some say that it's a ghost of a female student who loved playing the piano or just some floating wrists while there is blood Dream from the ceiling for some reason the most famous Theory suggests that borlise is played it is sad that you will die if you hear that song four times the number four is considered to be bad luck because it is a homonym to death in Japanese but I have a question for you why on Earth would you stay in such a horrifying place to listen to the song four times you've probably been enjoying the performance haven't you thank you so much for listening to my performance the concert fee will be your life [Music] four the moving statue of uh sugar can I ask you something who the heck is it seems that there are fewer and fewer schools now but until about my parents generation there are many schools that had a statue of nomya kinjiro in the schoolyard the school that I attended did not have one but I have seen one in a nearby School in the community is a Statesman agriculturalist and philosopher from the late Edo period who is well known to all Japanese it is said that he rebuilt his fallen family by studying and fighting against social norms as a peasant and even helped rebuild 600 more Villages throughout his life it is said that as a child he studied hard even while supporting his poor family and his hard work was displayed as statues at various schools as a role model for students while Nino Mia is a very much respected figure among the students in the past he was actually why another horror story was born many students believe that at night the number of firewood on his back will change the pages of his book will churn or Worse the statue of ninomia itself will be walking around the schoolyard the worst thing you can do is count the number of firewood he carries because it is believed to kill you or get you cursed just like the music room we went to earlier children were basically scared of things with human figures but this mystery is starting to be forgotten because there are hardly any more ninomia statues in schools what happened unfortunately the image of the hard-working minomia didn't seem to suit the modern way of thinking anymore as it was criticized as we shouldn't Force our children to work and walking while looking down and reading a book is dangerous because it might promote texting while walking even if you're a statue that can freely move around at night you you cannot beat the angry parents we might not have the statues of nomia as schools anymore but I really hope his stories of hard work will be passed down to the Next Generation [Music] 5. the cherry blossoms of blood I'm sure many people associate Japan with the beautiful cherry blossoms however you have to be careful of the cherry blossoms blooming within the schools it's because there's someone's body buried under the tree and that person's blood is what dies the petals pink it originally came from a Horror Story titled under the sakura tree by a writer who was active from the Thai show to the show up periods by the way there is a way to find out if there is a dead body buried under a cherry blossom tree at a school on April 4th 4 44 PM if you walk counterclockwise around the tree the petals will all fall off and turn bright red but strictly speaking what changes the color of the petals isn't the soil but it's actually the change in temperature though [Music] 6. the white and red hands and the red and blue paper listening to so many horrifying stories I'm pretty sure you want to go to the bathroom again just now we set our greetings to hanuko-san but this time let's actually use a toilet to meet a different horror it is the hands coming out of the toilets the white hand red hand are ghosts that suddenly touch your bottom when you're sitting on the toilet these pervert ghosts are believed to appear in the bathrooms on the Northern side of the school just like the number four is considered a cursed number North is also associated with bath luck because it's believed to be the direction which Buddha's head was facing when he passed away after doing your business on the perfect ghost hands you notice that there isn't any paper this is when you'll be meeting another ghost the red and blue paper a voice out of nowhere will ask you if you would like to have red or blue paper if you answer red you will die losing too much blood and if you answer blue you will be suffocated to death this mystery is believed to be born from the rituals in the past of making paper dolls of men and women with red and blue paper to worship the toilet Gods by the way there are some theories in some regions that say you must answer yellow paper in order to survive I have no clue why though do you have any ideas [Music] seven take a ticket finally the last mystery although she is very famous I still wanted to introduce her last as the most overwhelmingly terrifying being yes the the kid a female student with only her upper body she is so called because of the picky thickest sound she makes as she crawls around the ground with her two arms what's crazy is that despite having only an upper body she will chase you at speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour there is a very famous story about her when a male student was walking through the schoolyard to go home she saw a girl smiling down at him from the window of the school building because they thought that she might be our girl that liked him he was encouraged by his friends to go back to the school building to see her but when he got to the floor where she was he found out that she didn't have the lower half of her body the moment he realized this she attacked the male student with unbelievable speed despite the fact that she was only using her elbows no one saw the male student thereafter how however it is said that ticket herself has a very sad past a high school girl was run over by a train in mid-winter in Hokkaido Japan's northernmost Island she was split in half upper and lower body when the police officers were collecting her body parts they were surprised to know that she was still alive only with her upper body winter and Hokkaido can go as low as 30 degrees Celsius the cold kept her alive without losing too much blood however the frightened policeman put a plastic bag over her upper body as if she was dead so she is still driven by feelings of grudges and is still searching for the lower half of her body but this Horror Story is just a Onibaba Japanese urban legend if you're hit by a train running at full speed you will actually be torn into pieces and minus 30 degrees Celsius is not enough to completely freeze a large wound but the part of the story where the policemen get rid of her because they thought she was creepy sounds oddly realistic by the way if you'd like to learn more about pick of the game there are movies and video games about her so I hope you can check them out however I will not take any responsibility if you get cursed then lastly today's conclusion I introduced the seven horrifying School mysteries in Japan I grew up listening to 1. the 13 steps at night the stairs of a school that only has 12 steps were turned into 13 and those who step on it are believed to be taken to a different world is a young girl you can meet in the third compartment of a third floor bathroom if you knock the doors of each room ask me if she's there she'll drag you into third stall and you'll never be able to come out three the music room Japanese urban legend school music rooms generally have portraits of Baja Mozart and other famous composers hanging on the walls and at night it is believed that their eyes move and facial expressions change there's an even more crazy theory that says that laser beams will come out of Beethoven's eyes which moves the objects inside the room also there is a piano that plays on its own while there's blood dripping from the ceiling 4. the moving statue of statue used to be placed in many schools in Japan as a role model for children because he was a hard worker and saved many people's lives 5. the cherry blossoms of blood It is believed that the cherry blossoms growing within Japanese schools have someone's dead body buried under it and their blood is what makes the pallets pink 6. the red and white hand the red and blue paper if you use the toilet facing north in schools at night there will be hands touching your bottom also you will hear a voice asking you what color paper you want red or blue and you'll be killed no matter what the only way to survive is to answer that you want in yellow paper seven is a ghost of a female student with only her upper body and her name comes from the tequite sound she makes as she crawls along the ground with her two arms with only her elbows she will chase you as beads up up to 100 kilometers per hour so that's it for today thank you very much for watching if this video gave you some nice Goosebumps.

Pooka The Irish Prankster
Falta a while your friends today we're gonna talk about the pooka and find it all about the Irish urban legend if you enjoy the video please hit a light bulb if we can get the twenty likes that will be amazing and as always if you're new subscribe so you never miss one of our videos now grab a cup of tea and relax as we delve into the urban legend of the pooka a puka is a shapeshifter and can take any form a chooses usually it is seen in the form of a dog Robert gorsh goblin or even an old man traditionally a puka is seen as a derrick sleek horse with a long wild flowing mane and luminescent coal and ice an important thing to always remember about a puka is that to have the power of human speech and when inclined to make great sport of dollars to talk to as they like to embellish and the truth in Ireland the pooka seems to be the most feared very possibly cause appears only at night and enjoys creating havoc initiative we feel this is doing the pooka a grave injustice because there are no recorded incidences of the pooka actually causing a human anyhow many small mountainous lakes and Springs in Ireland are called pupils or paula fuga which means puka or demon hole some of these are found at sources of major Irish rivers such as the Liffey that runs through Dublin City or the river ban which is the longest river in the north of Ireland that runs through the town of Colerain during the Christianization of Ireland the process of converting the pagan population to Christianity some of the poker pools were renamed to st. Patrick Wells pukas can be found in any rural location every county in Ireland has it's very own Puka they're like open mountainous areas so that they can run free while in horse form past history records many sightings of puka all over the country but the most famous stories about an animal spirit that gave its name to the paula fuga hall of pukka at the boundary of the river liffey between the counties clare and Whitlow presently this is the site of a hydroelectric power station where the river flows through a narrow Gorge before plunging 150 feet in three stages under the second dropped her as a pool and this is called Hall of pukka Irish otter portrait Farrell narrates a story which was inspired by a written account of an anonymous caller man the writer also has an interest in postscript at the end in November 1813 Claire hunts known as killing Claire said Ashe having indulged in traditional stirrup cope a tipper crossroads nearness won't fail to raise a fox until it was approaching tipper cabin north of Bali more use this canticle air here a large Fox appeared and led a course towards Livie simultaneously an unmounted black horse appeared that did not belong to any of the riders it was pooka urban legend the train was difficult than the Fox ran fast so that nearly fee only one of the members of the hunt a man named Grenon and a horse who was really a puka remained with the pack the gorgeous and false Bay but hounds were gaining on the quarry and it started a picked her way across rocks seen the danger gredin attempted to recall the hounds but the pooka ahead of them was tempting them on routes the Fox headed for a Ledge on a narrow part of the gorge and then seen the pukas red eyes spitting fire the fox jumped it missed the ledge falling into the turbulent waters below the pooka easily left across the gorge disappearing into the woodlands with the pack of hounds heard on the sand - the Fox were heading headlong into the pool looking down Grannis off Fox and Hounds desperately trying to swim to safety in this world in swell but her hounds dashed against rocks were yelping in pain and dying he wept as most of the pack went under suddenly his sorrow gave way to terror he heard a diabolical name like an animal laughing from the woods opposite grana knew at that moment in time it was indeed Puka he was dealing with that was a story of the Eclair puja there are a lot of superstitions across times about pukas that are still observed in Ireland these superstitions vary depending on which region you happen to find yourself in although there seem to be common ground when you talk about a puka some of the stories are alike and just differ under minor details when a puka isn't horse for him he tends to have fun by inviting a rider to jump on his back this usually happens when a rider has had a little too much to drink and his making his weary way home from the pub dough starts the wireless trip the rider will ever known for the Polka loves to terrify the rider with his great prowess and jumping over hedges and rocks and making death-defying leaps come the gray dawn the rider is trolling off the horses back and left trembling but none the worse from the night's events to find his way back home this is maybe where the reputation slips a bit as while in a wild night house like this they do tend to run to crop fields and knock down fences without a care [Music] the only man who ever successfully write a puka was the high king of ireland and founder of the o'brien dynasty brian boru mimic antic a more commonly known as brian boru brian managed to control the magic of the creature by using a special bridle which used tree hairs for pukas tail brian's physical prowess meant he was able to stay on its back and until exhausted the pooka surrendered to brian the king forced it to agree to two promises first that had no longer tormented christian people and ruined her property and second that it would never again attacking Irishmen except those who were drunk or were abroad with evil intent at all polka agreed it appears to have forgotten his promises over the years in entertain the poker love as with all his Irish people is the chat and we'll happily stop and shoot the breeze with him sometimes giving great advice and making exceptional prophecies in some rural areas you will see housed I'll have a bench on the right side of the door and the gay post on the right will be smooth whereas on the left or a beer rockery or some sort of uncomfortable mount this is because a good poker will always sit in the right and the more mischievious price will favor the left to tend to use the same opening gambit to introduce himself it would be something like you were new here I think many years ago I used to live here one of his favorite topics is about how the family lost his fortune worse when letter to money and Lance the odd thing about a conversation with a puka is that you may have sat and shadow him for about an hour but suddenly he disappears without saying goodbye they never say goodbye you'll be left wondering if the past hour was real don't never leave any sign that were there November 1st is considered pookas day this coincides with the harvest and the traditional customs that when the haves has been brought in the Reaper must leave a few starts behind this is called a puka share and must be left to appease the poker because we for one would not like to incur his wrath it is said that when we see rain falling on a sunny day which it does a lot in Ireland the pooka will definitely make an appearance that night also berries that have been killed by a frosty overnight should never be eaten as it is pookas fish that is on them and would render them poisonous the pooka and all of his shapes and forms has meted into many books and films one of the most famous is Harvey the six-foot white rabbit from the player by Mary chase immortalized in the film by Jimmy Stewart or the infamous scene and Darby O'Gill and the little people when the pooka scares therapy into falling down the well and he first meets King Brian with leprechauns many modern films that pookas appearing in animal form as well for example there's an a.1 film Donnie Darko a puka in rabbit form encourages Donnie to do malicious acts which have a positive and negative result on the people around him I believe that there are many on documents reports of puka in this day and age from people that are simply just too embarrassed to reveal them the problem is that not many people are aware that anything unusual has happened until the pooka has left and of course when adversity does strike this entity is never around hidden in its supernatural realm it revels enjoyed watching humans and during the effects of its wicked creation have you ever experienced poker or something unusual in your life let us know in the comments and tell us about your story thank you all so much Men in Black Scary Story Time
son what's up got it hey i'm sapphire want to hear something scary [Music] before we head into our next chapter make sure you subscribe to snarled and turn on the bell for notifications and stick around after this episode for some exciting announcements our next story is a true close encounter of a strange kind from McCall in Montana a friend of Megan's it was the winter of 2013 McCall had just finished his first year of wildland firefighting and to celebrate he and his friend Coby went to his cabin far off in the woods and mountains of Montana McCollum also bought himself a 44 magnum revolver which he brought along with him McCall and Colby spent the day gathering wood and once it got dark out they burned the wood in the fire pit in front of the cabin they were playing music through a Bluetooth speaker sipping beers and hanging out about five minutes had passed when McCall heard a sound coming from behind the cabin they both paused it was probably just the wind or something McCall threw another log onto the fire and they continued talking a few minutes later they heard it again did you hear that yeah it's probably just some cattle or something cattle don't make noise like that they tried to think of what could possibly be the source of this strange almost rhythmic sound maybe it was the trees freezing but it wasn't cold enough for that the nearest neighbor wasn't for a few miles with someone messing with him hey who's there McCall tried to sound as intimidating as possible despite being scared shitless if you don't stop I'm going to shoot they waited we call shot his gun at a nearby tree as a warning when the ringing in their ears began to fade they heard a low deep guttural growl McCall knows what all the animals on Montana sound like Cougars smooth black bears badgers coyotes wolves but this he had never heard a growl like this before and it sounded like a warning McCall and Colby ran inside the cabin locked the doors and close the blinds the following morning they walked outside to where the sounds came from to see if they could find any tracks something to give them an idea of what was there but the fresh fallen layer of snow had covered any evidence the following summer McCall and Colby returned to the cabin McCall's uncle had recently passed away and a mountain retreat was just what he needed at this point they had completely forgotten about the strange sounds last winter they arrived at the cabin early in the morning and spent the day gathering firewood once it got dark they decided to stop and go inside for a break McCall made a large pot of coffee to stay awake as they planned on staying up later to make a bonfire the living room of the cabin had a couch that faced the front door next to the door was a large window with the curtains pulled back it was completely pitch black outside McCall and Colby were relaxing on the couch sipping their mugs when suddenly a flash of light appeared outside moments later another flash and another with every flash McCall heard what sounded like the shutter of a camera like someone was taking photos McCall turned to Coby do you see that the look on his face was enough of an answer the flashing lights continued for ten more minutes and then silence they heard footsteps soft slow dragging along the ground Sun was up they were miles away from anyone else somebody had traveled a very long way to get to them McCall and Colby grabbed their rifles and follow the sound as it made its way to the front door it stopped despite having just drank two cups of coffee McCall began to feel tired heavy it was like someone had just switched his brain to slow motion he could faintly hear Colby say something in the air McCall McCall wake up it was morning McCall was on the floor next to his bed how did I get here I don't know but I woke up in the middle of the hallway do you remember what happened last night I remember the footsteps at the door and then I think we both passed out but check this out they walked downstairs to the living room Colby pointed towards the front door both their rifles leaned neatly against the door right where they aimed them last night did you put those there no did somebody enter their house everybody's still there when they left later that day there was a black Dodge Ram with tinted windows parked on the mountain about a mile away from a calls cabin it probably wouldn't have caught McCall's i if he hadn't known so much about the men since about half a century ago people who had witnessed ufos or other unexplained phenomena also claimed to be visited by mysterious men in black suits and ties usually these men threatened the witness to never speak of what they saw these are the men in black an organization whose job is to keep us from the what's really out there did McCall and Colby unknowingly witnessed something they weren't supposed to and did the men in black pay a visit to make sure they wouldn't tell anyone sometimes that bond becomes complicated and if not addressed can have terrible consequences in a village near japan's mount fuji there lived a teenager named usumi she lived under the watchful care of her aunt fumio who doted on her endlessly every night usumi stared up at the snowy peak with wonder and terror it was there that her parents had been lost in a terrible avalanche when she was just a baby look away from there aunt familia warned it won't do you any good they concluded with their nightly offerings at their camadona a traditional shinto family shrine usami bade her aunt goodnight that night as she slept she heard a sweet loving whisper usami she sprang awake and saw that just outside her window was a beautiful woman she knew instantly it was her mother her mother told her how desperately she wanted to see her but her aunt familia forbade usumi was confused why would her aunt do that her mother explained that aunt familia was unable to have children of her own and was jealous of her brother's blessings her mother claimed that her aunt killed her own brother and banished her sister-in-law so she could raise usmi as her own suddenly anfamio turned on the lights what are you doing it's late usumi turned to the window to see her mother was gone the next day usumi couldn't think of anything else her mind was clouded with questions as well as rage at her aunt for lying at breakfast she coyly asked aunt familia to relay the story of her parents passing her aunt told the same story she always did that of a tragic avalanche and a child saved but unfamiliar's tone betrayed a distinct annoyance she told usumi she was tired of talking about Onibaba urban legend it her aunt then left for work but not before placing another offering at their shrine that night as her aunt slept usumi patiently waited at the window sure enough her mother reappeared usumi begged her to come inside her mother said she would but only if usumi destroyed the family shrine usumi didn't understand their camodona was sacred it contained amulets and keepsakes that protected the house poor girl aunt familio tricked you again she desecrates our cameldona with curses that trap you here and keep me from entering her mother explained usumi was furious filled with a desire for righteous vengeance she marched up to their shrine and angrily shoved it over it splintered and shattered sending shards of wood and porcelain flying everywhere anfamio ran into the room and exclaimed my dear usumi what have you done just then all the windows shattered and every door flung open as a shadow appeared over them the voice of usumi's mother thundered at last the shadow transformed until towering over niece and aunt was a hideous creature with a human head and a spider's body on familial cried out your mother is the juragumo an ancient goblin she made it with your father and killed him all i ever wanted was to shield you from such danger and tragedy usually stood between her mother and her aunt her mother beckoned and promised that now they could be together anfamio told her that the jury gumo has no love for anyone she would consume her daughter piece by piece just like her father before her then her aunt stopped talking and when usumi looked at the woman she found that she had been impaled by one of her own mother's legs her mother spun her dying aunt into a webbed cocoon and then instructed her daughter to come home with her to her real home on the mountain at that moment usumi was overwhelmed lied to traumatized she had no one anymore no one except her mother the juragumo crawled out of the cottage carrying her webbed up meal and was followed by usmi together they made their way up mount fuji reunited at last my face gets super oily at the worst times it's
